-I photographed my first wedding Tuesday August 7, 2012. I had a blast! It was my first paid gig and I pulled it off. I took 501 pictures (which isn't much from what I've read others take) but everyone of them are pretty good. The wedding was relatively small and took place at a restaurant. It was a lovely reception and I think the bride and groom will be very pleased with the images. I would like to get a couple more lenses but then photographing more weddings is definitely something I'd be interested in. I am very thankful that the bride and groom give me the opportunity. There are very few people that would give a 17 year old with no wedding experience a shot at capturing their big day. Hopefully with the photographs I have captured, I can attract more clients now. I will post them very soon.
-Also, I am thinking about getting a Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 lens. Is it better than the kit lens? I have read that it is and has been used as a wedding photography lens. I would also be using it to photograph newborns (my other choice of photography subjects). I can get it for $200. What do you guys think?
-I am photographing a newborn in a week and may have another gig coming up.
I am glad I am getting the opportunity to expand my portfolio. I have photographed most of the children in my family. I have only posted a couple of the photos on here of each but there are plenty more. I'll get around to posting them all eventually.
Just some other thoughts:
-I'm going to be buying some L lenses soon. Or at least one. Which though? I want a fast lens (f2.8 preferably). I would like a zoom lens. Probably a lower zoom like 24-70 etc. But you guys tell me which one produces sharp images and is worth the money.
-I had three teeth pulled yesterday. It was just awful! Wisdom teeth...
-I have been thinking about buying a new camera. I currently have the Canon EOS Rebel T2i but I think I would benefit more from some new good quality lenses instead. Opinions?
-I might get a job at Red Lobster soon. I have an interview next week.
-School starts back August 20th. Ever since I started college over a year ago I have loaded myself up with 5-6 classes each semester. I think this semester I am just going to do the three classes I need and then an easy online class since I have a 12 credit scholarship that pays for it anyways. That way I will have more time to work on photography as well as possibly work (fingers crossed) and just relax some.
Sorry for such a long journal entry about my life. I just felt like blabbering.
